FAQs from Chiropractors

How long does it take to get started with PCD?

As soon as you complete the provider enrollment form, you are eligible to start offering PCD plans to underinsured patients in your community. Begin by logging into your PCD Provider Portal and going to the Resources menu to find your Training assets. You can launch the program with your patients as soon as you're ready. Live training is available for your team, as well.

What if we have more than one chiropractor in our clinic?

On the enrollment form, there is a place for a primary chiropractor and also a place to add associate doctors. This option is used when the clinic shares patients and records. If the chiropractors in your clinic see patients and bill separately, then you may want to choose to have each chiropractor fill out their own provider enrollment form.

How can I switch from another DMPO to PCD?

We have a spectacular transition offer that gives patients (currently using any other plan) a free, 1-year PCD plan! Make sure to select SWITCH OFFER when enrolling as a PCD provider to apply this promotion.

How should I tell my patients that I've become a Preferred Chiropractic Doctor provider?

Once you become a provider, PCD will send you a marketing guide to help you initiate an outreach protocol to help increase new patient activity, reactivate care for clients that haven’t been in for a while, and motivate existing patients to refer their friends and family members to your clinic! We’ll also send you marketing resources and special promotions for patient outreach throughout the year.

How will I know what fees to charge self-paying patients?

PCD plans guarantee patients a minimum 25% fee reduction from PCD providers' standard fees for exams, x-rays, adjustments, and therapies. You are always in control of your fees. If you want to give greater discounts for groups (i.e. Seniors, Hardship, Military, Promotions), feel free!

Will I need to submit my fee schedule to PCD?

No, we don't require you to submit fee schedules to PCD because our guarantee to patients plan members is always a minimum 25% fee reduction from whatever our PCD Providers' standard rates are for exams, x-rays, adjustments, and therapies. If your fees change, your PCD rates change with you.

Can PCD plan members use the plan with another chiropractor?

PCD plans can be used at all PCD Provider locations. If a patient is traveling, has a student away at college, or is away from their home chiropractor for any reason, they can use our Doctor Locator to find a local chiropractor and receive the same PCD plan guarantee to save a minimum of 25% off whatever that chiropractor's standard rate is for exams, x-rays, adjustments and therapies. Of course, patients should know that most chiropractors' fees do vary, but the PCD plan guarantee is the same for all.

How will I keep track of PCD plan member participation?

You'll be able to login to a PCD Provider Portal to see all patient activity. We'll also email you a monthly Patient List and a Provider Update. On Mondays, if you have any PCD plan members that are set to expire in the current week, you'll also get a Monday report of those patients so that you're not having to continuously check patient files.

Is PCD "legal"?

Preferred Chiropractic Doctor is the longest-running chiropractic cash-fee compliance provider in the country. Since 1993, we've maintained the highest standards in the industry for providing a legal cash-fee system for chiropractors. Each year, we must submit the entirety of our plan, contracts, and all operations to every state that requires approval for extending the plan to chiropractors and patients. We also partner with Access One Consumer Health – a nationwide discount medical plan organization that provides legal support to our program.

Important points to consider:
  • PCD allows you to maintain your state’s compliance regulations at no charge to you!
  • In the event you are audited, having a registered plan in place clearly exhibits the steps you've taken to avoid fraudulent fee reductions.
